Congratutalions to Philip Sutton - Dunstable Downs - winning the NWCGA Senior Open at Conwy with an excellent final round of 71 gross.  Mike Calvert - Royal St. David's won the Seiko Trophy (North Wales Seniors only).

NWCGA Senior Open Championship 2018

Played at Prestatyn GC 1st/2nd May

The Seniors again this year had to battle 2 rounds in unseasonably cold & very blustery conditions. Their fighting spirit & resolve produced an excellent championshiip with the eventual Winner Nigel M. Evans - St. Mellons winning the battle on the final round with an excellent score of 74 Total gross 152, leaving 3 of his fellow seniors  2 shots adrift on 154.

NWCGA Senior Open Championship 2017

Played at Padeswood & Buckley 24th & 25th April 2017.

Stewart King The competition played over two days in very unseasonable weather bitterly cold with hailstones thrown in for good measure was brought to a successful conclusion despite the weather. The overall winner Stewart King from West Lancashire Golf Club (left) with a total gross of 151 being presented with the Senior Cup by Karl Lurz, President NWCGA.

CONGRATULATIONS to Robert Clark pictured (left) from Cardigan Golf Club scored a Hole-In-One on the 10th Hole, White Tee, 147 yards with a 6 iron.

The Association as a memento to celebrate his Hole-in-One presented Robert with a bottle of Whisky & a certificate.

Sixty of the leading low handicapped Senior golfers from England &
Wales played in the inaugural NWCGA Seniors Open played at the
Vale of Llangollen GC.

Unfortunately the scheduled 2nd round of the 36 hole competition
had to be abandoned because of heavy rain flooding a number
of greens and making the course unplayable.

The winner of the competition, decided on the opening 18 holes 
was Grahame Barrett a member of Dukinfield GC who returned
a 73 gross to beat Timothy Christie of the Northenden GC on
a card countback.  Andrew Williams a member of Newport GC
finished 3rd on 74. The winner of the Seiko North Wales
Closed championship was George Smith of the Vale of Llangollen GC with a score of 79 gross.

NWCGA Seniors, captained by Paul Stanton Mold GC, registered a 9½ to 8½ success against Cheshire at Prestatyn GC.  After the morning Greensome matches NWCGA held a narrow advantage leading by 3½ to 2½ and the 6 afternoon matches were halved 6 points apiece.
